If you're a fan of Starbucks then you'll love these Starbucks inspired caramel frappuccino cupcakes! These were some of my favorite cupcakes. The combination of caramel frosting, coffee and vanilla whipped cream was so much like the real thing. In this video I use frosting base recipes which I'll link.

You'll Need:

1 C Brewed Starbucks Medium Roast Coffee (add 3/4 C sugar to make a syrup)

Vanilla Cake Batter & Cupcake Pan w/ liners

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

Stabilized Whipped Cream

Caramel Sauce (I used Ghirardelli's brand)

Starbucks Cupcake Wrapper Printables

Paper Straws

Piping Bag with Star Tip

Cupcake Corer or Large Piping Tip

Step 1: Batter and Buttercream

Make the cake batter as instructed and fill cupcake pan 3/4 of the way with batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 minutes then allow to fully cool.

----

Use a jar of frosting or ...

Make a homemade buttercream:

2 sticks unsalted softened butter

1 tbsp milk or cream

3-4 Cups of confectioners sugar

1 tsp salt

----

To the frosting, mix in 1/2 cup of caramel syrup for 2 cups of frosting. Adjust the sweetness by adding a pinch more salt if necessary. Set aside.

Step 2: Filling

Remove the centers of each cupcake using a cupcake corer, a large piping tip or a knife. Only cut down half way into the cake, we don't want to reach the bottom of the cake or the liner might get sticky.

Fill the centers of the cupcakes with caramel sauce, then replace the removed centers back into the cupcake.

Step 3: Coffee Deliciousness

Brew one cup of Starbucks coffee and add to it 3/4 cup of sugar. Sounds like a lot but we're making a coffee simple syrup.

Spoon or brush the cooled coffee syrup onto each cupcake until moist.

Cut the tip of a piping bag (about 1/2 inch) and pipe a swirl of caramel frosting onto the cupcake.

Step 4: Whipped Cream

I did a wonderful quick stabilized whipped cream recipe video tutorial.

The difference between regular and stabilized is that gelatin allows the cream to stay stiff just like a normal frosting would. It is now considered stable - so no need to worry about melting. You can use normal whipped cream but the results won't last as long.

Stabilized whipped cream:

1 1/2 Cup whipping cream

2 tbsp instant vanilla pudding

3 tbsp powdered sugar

Whip until firm peaks form.

-----

Put into a piping bag with a large star tip and pipe a swirl onto each cupcake. Finish with a drizzle of caramel syrup/

Step 5: Cupcake Wrappers

You must finish these cupcakes off with a Starbucks wrapper for that realistic touch. Click here for free Starbucks cupcakes printables. Simply print them out at home, cut them out and wrap around the cupcake securing with a piece of tape.

You can also cut a paper straw in 2 inch pieces to add to the cupcakes. That's it! You've got an amazing delicious Caramel Frappuccino cupcake! Enjoy!
