Introduction: Easy Chocolate Frosting
I have used this chocolate frosting recipe for years on my angel food birthday cakes. I never really liked the fluffy frosting that you find on most cakes, so this has always been my go to recipe for any frosting or sauce. This recipe also works great as a chocolate sauce or for just about anything, especially strawberries.
What you will need:
- Butter
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Double boiler (or however you like to melt stuff like chocolate)
Directions:
I think the original recipe was 1 part chocolate chips to 1 part butter, but I always felt that was too much butter for my liking. I usually do about 2 parts chocolate chips to 1 part butter. Basically, if the sauce isn't looking smooth and shiny, add some more butter. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or over low heat stirring often.
Let it cool for 5 minutes and then apply to your cake or start dipping!
