Hey momoluvers! It's momo and today I'll be making a splendorious tutorial for them Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes. Coffee cozies basically keep your hands from getting to hot when holding coffee or tea. I have been making them for a few years now and have mastered the technique. I saw this specific tutorial online, but when I tested it, it didn't look like the picture, and I decided I would make my own tutorial! I hope y'all have as much fun making this as I did, and keep sipping that pumpkin spice!

NOTE: the pictures I took, I used brown yarn, but darker colors don't show up as well. I redid it in a cream color which is the final picture you see above.

Step 1: Supplies

1~ Light colored yarn
2~ 4 DPNs (Double Pointed Needles)
3~ Scissors
4~ A cable needle (I just used another DPN, and it worked just fine)
5~ Sewing needle
6~ Black thread or small buttons

You will need to know how to:
1~ Knit
2~ Purl
3~ Cast on
4~ Cast off
5~ Work in a round

If you have all of the supplies and you know how to do the above, let's begin!

If you don't know how to do some of the things above, there are some awesome videos on YouTube and even right here on instructables that will teach you how to do just that!

Step 2: Cast On

Cast on 36 stitches. Divide evenly onto three Double Pointed Needles. There should be twelve stitches on each needle.

Step 3: Rounds 1-4

Find the needle that has the yarn ball connected to it. Insert a fourth DPN into the first loop of the needle to the left of the yarn ball needle. (if that makes sense :P)

Begin by knitting the first two stitches. Purl the next one. Continue to knit the next two and purl one. Repeat this pattern for four complete rounds.

Step 4: Rounds 5-7

For these rounds, you'll knit Knit 8 stitches then Purl 4 (above is a side shot of what it should look like after you've completed these rounds)

Step 5: Round 8

Slip two stitches from the main needle to the cable needle and hold them in the back. Then knit the next two stitches.

Go back the the stitches on the cable needle and knit those. You should get a crossed pattern.

Repeat this, but hold the stitches in the front instead of the back.

Finish it off by purling three stitches.

Step 6: Rounds 9-15

Now we're going to repeat what we did earlier. I'm referring to the Knit 8, Purl 4. Repeat for rounds 9-15

Step 7: Round 16

Once again, repeat the C4B, C4F, P4 pattern from round 8. The B means to hold two stitches in the back, the F means hold two stitches in the front, and the P means purl

Step 8: Rounds 17-22

Once again (!) We're going to continue the K8, P4 pattern (Knit 8, Purl 4) See? I told this tutorial would be easy!

Step 9: Round 23

Repeat the C4B, C4F, P4 pattern from round 8.

Step 10: Cast Off at Last!

And now just cast off the stitches.

Step 11: Let There Be Sight

Fasten it around a mug or cup to make sure it fits right.

Wrap it up by sewing buttons or thread for the eyes and that's it!

Step 12: Finito!
