Introduction: LED-kaars / LED Candle

Maak een LED-kaars van een wenskaart uit de winkel. Wat heb je hiervoor nodig?

We gaan nu stap voor stap beschrijven hoe je met deze dingen een LED-kaars kan maken.

Here's a translation:
We are going to make a LED candle by using the one of those standard greeting cards that come with sound and light. You can buy them at stationary shops. What do you need to make this at home?

- A greetings card that makes silly sounds
- A LED bicycle light (red, preferably)
- The carton piece of a toilet roll
- Some toilet paper
- A cutting tool
- Adhesive tape
- Scissors

We will describe step-by-step how you make this.

Step 1: Haal De Wenskaart Uit Elkaar

Maak de kaart open en haal de geluids-chip los van de speaker.

Open the wishing card and pull off the sound chip from the attached speaker.

Step 2: Haal Het Fietslampje Uit Elkaar

Haal het fietslampje uit elkaar. Gebruik hier eventueel een schroevendraaier voor.

Take the bicycle light apart. Maybe you will have to use a screw driver to do so.

Step 3: Lampje Loshalen

Pak de kniptang en gebruik deze om het lampje los te maken van de chip.

Take the cutting tool and use it to separate the LED light from the chip.

Step 4: Check Your Lights Please!

Check even of het lampje het doet door de pootjes tegen de batterij uit de fietslamp te houden.

Please check whether the light is indeed working by holding its feet to the battery from the bicycle light.

Step 5: Pootjes Buigen

Doet het lampje het? Gebruik dan de kniptang om de pootjes van het lampje recht te maken.

Working ok? Then use the cutting tool to make the two feet straight.

Step 6: Kartonnetje Knippen

Knip een stukje van de wenskaart af of pak een stukje karton. Prik de pootjes van het LED lampje hier doorheen.

Cut off a piece of the greeting card. Or use some other piece of carton. Push the feet of the LED light through the carton.

Step 7: Lampje Op Kartonnetje

Vouw de pootjes van het lampje plat, zodat het lampje strak op het karton blijft zitten. Pak de draadjes van de geluids-chip erbij. Deze vouw je allebei onder de pootjes van het lampje.

Now fold the feet flat on the carton, assuring that the light stays tight to the piece of carton. Take the small wires of the sound chip and fold these both under the feet of the light. 

Step 8: In De WC-rol Plakken

Stop het stukje karton met het lampje en de chip in de WC-rol. Plak deze eventueel vast met plakband.

Put the piece of carton with the light and the sound chip in the toilet roll. Tape this if necessary to the roll.

Step 9: Maak De Kaarsvorm

Maak een kaarsvorm van een stukje WC-papier op het lampje. Doe de kaars aan met het clipje (zie het laatste plaatje). Nu kan je de kaars nog versieren! En klaar!

Make a candle shape from the piece of toilet paper and put it on the light. You switch on the candle with the little clip (see last picture). Now you can decorate your LED candle, make it as pretty as you wish. Ready!
