Introduction: Punk Rock Easter Egg

About: I enjoy making things. My making them is usually based on necessity, the fact that it doesn't exist, and/or buying it pre-done would be way more expensive. I like all kinds of projects and find this site a ver…

I wanted something fun and edgy for Easter this year, this is what I came up with.It is very simple and looks very ornate. It can also be manhandled since the spikes are screwed and not glued. You can do it in any color you like and any pattern. Enjoy!

Step 1: Materials

Plastic Easter Egg
Spray paint (I chose flat black)
Screw-back spikes (available at crafts stores or ebay)
Drill
Drill bit the size of your screw
Permanent marker (not pictured)

Step 2: Preparing the Egg and Spray Painting It.

Use the magic marker to draw the points on the egg where you will be drilling your design. Once done separate the egg and drill in the holes.  Clean off any debris from drilling.

Spray paint the egg halves and let dry.

Step 3: Inserting Spikes

I found it easier to insert the screws into holes of each egg half and then screw the spikes on to the exterior. I did not need a screwdriver, it was easily done by hand.

I did spikes only on one side of the egg, so it will be easier to lay and hold once put together.

Step 4: Fill Egg With Goodies, Put Egg Together and Have a Rockin' Easter.

That's it !
