This love knot bead will add lovely texture to any jewelry. It's not hard to do, just requires patience. It is also known as Danish Love knot.

Step 1:

Mandrel - I used a glue stick for the example and a pencil for the bead I used.

Step 2: Entwining

For an example, I have chosen a glue stick so that the wire rings would be big and therefore easy for you to see.

First twist wire closely and tightly in mandrel. Then cut it in to 3 equal parts with a wire cutter.

Now twist 2 of the rings together like a key ring so that it is entwined. Twist the the third ring too and join all 3.

Now comes the tricky part. I have marked the rings 'A', 'B' and 'C'. Now you have to entwine 'C' to 'A' while keeping it in 'B'. It's just like adding keys :-) just making sure the other keys don't slip out while you add each key!

The example is easy as the rings are bigger. For it to look really nice the circles need to be tight.

For the bead I used in my pendant I used a pencil as a mandrel. I used 7 rounds for each ring. Once I entwined all 3 I found it was too tight. This was fine as now I can easily snip off the extra round with a wire cutter making it easier to entwine all 3.

Check the picture of both coils. As you can see the tighter the better it would be for the next step.

Step 3: Making the Bead

Now to make the bead. Take a piece of wire. Make a loop and slip in a flower bead. You could also just insert a larger bead. Now make sure all the ends of the coils are in the inside and not showing out.

Slip the wire in the center and come out in the other end.( This might be difficult for you to understand unless you do it. Then you would find the center easily :-) )

Add another bead and close in a loop.

Now that you have made your love knot bead you can use it as an accent for anything from earring, bracelets and necklaces.

I made a pendant.

For the Pendant, I made a loop and slipped in a flower bead. Then the crystal Bead and added another flower bead and closed off with a loop. I had 2 crystal hanging beads with me so I added it to a jump ring and hooked it onto the crystal bead. Now attach this to the love knot bead. Add a jump ring to the love knot bead and there you have a cute little pendant!
