Overview

Julia Child believed that, “Once you have mastered a technique, you hardly need look at a recipe again.” Good chefs know that cooking is intuitive, but you have to learn to sauté before you can soufflé. Pass on your kitchen techniques for things like chopping veggies, timing roasts, and more in the Cooking Basics Challenge.

From a basic omelet, to an introduction to braising, if you have a method for making something delicious, we want to read about it. The top chef will win an iPad Mini, The Perfect Gift Set, sous-vide temperature controller, and a stainless steel cast iron cleaner. Get back to basics, and show us how you’d teach someone to cook.
