Introduction: ARDUINO CNC EMBROIDERY SEWING MACHINE

About: mraspotcnc

HELLO EVERY ONE...after long time coming to cnc again. This project very simple and all things available online store. inexpensive computerized embroidery sewing machine

Step 1: COMPUTERIZED EMBROIDERY SEWING MACHINE

HI arduino lovers..welcome my small experiment with portable sewing machine.

automatic embroidery machines are expensive, this project showing diy automatic embroidery machine using

arduino R3 and 3d printer parts.

Step 2: SOFTWARE

Thanks to khalid khattak for sharing "embroidery gcode generator " this software used for converting DST files to NC files .dst embroidery design files need to convert grbl readable NC files. "GRBL CONTROLLER" used to drive stepper motor.

Step 3: HARDWARE

I used here cheap plastic sewing machine to test stitching .motor pully and sewing machine hand wheel ratio is not calculated because hand made wooden wheel use for test stitch. so the needle up position little bit vary by every rotation. Belt (2gt 6mm) joint with sewing needle 30 degree cross cut. 2 stepper motor( nema17 ) moving hoop to X,Y position.see photos...

Step 4: X , Y AND Z

X and Y position arm setup as shown photos z axis drive hand wheel of sewing machine. Z rotation, feed rate needle up or down position can change in gcode generator software. cnc arduino shield connected arduino r3 port . 12V 3A DC POWER used for arduino shield. The Arduino 5V getting from usb from laptop.

Step 5: TESTING

Increasing feed rate in grbl software stitching speed also increased. unfortunately thread broken... if you working on cnc machine .safety first
