Versatile: This easy recipe gives you control over the ingredients used in it. You can use choice of your bread and go healthy y choosing sourdough bread as well. Most people like to use berries but you can decide which ones. 

Supplies

About The Ingredients:

Bread - Use any bread of your choice. If you like to go all healthy then use sourdough bread and this recipe works great with them.

Egg - Use large room temperature egg.

Yogurt - Use Greek yogurt as they are thick and gives great flavor to the toast. Runny yogurts will not work good for this recipe. You can use plant based yogurt as well.

Fruits - Berries makes great combination for this healthy.


INGREDIENTS  

  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbsp Yogurt
  • 2 Slices Bread
  • Berries of Choice
  • Honey or Maple Syrup

Step 1: Prepare the Custard Mixture

In a small bowl, whisk together egg and yogurt; it's 2 Tablespoon per egg which should be enough for 2 breads. Combine well and the mixture should look like custard without any egg clumps.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

Using the back of a spoon make some dents on the bread leaving the sides.

Now pour in the simple custard mixture into bread slices.

Top with fruits of your choice. Berries pair really well.

Step 3:

Bake in the oven for just 10 minutes at 400 F 200 C until custard settled and bread gets toasted.

Drizzle some honey or maple syrup and serve warm. 


Yogurt Toast Recipe Variations:

Dairy Free: The only dairy used in the recipe is Yogurt which you can substitute with plant based one.

Play With Fruits: It's great to use summer berries when they are in the season but the recipe is not limited to them only.

Kids Special: Kids love their food bit fun and they are over the moon when it's bright and colorful.

Use Other Healthy Ingredients : Make it even healthy by adding some nut butter.
