Introduction: DIY Tutorial-How to Make a Succulent Necklace! With Wood & Polymer Clay!

Tools and Materials:

  • Clay
  • Glue
  • Round T-pin
  • 925 silver necklace
  • Wooden spoon
  • Green moss
  • Water
  • Paintbrush
  • Color blocks
  • Oven
  • Pliers, polished rods, scissors, etc.

Step 1: Cut & Mix

Take a small amount of yellow and green clay to mix them up completely. Now we get the clay of jade green. PS: You could adjust the amount of the two clays to achieve the color you want. The amount is adjustable.

Step 2: Mix Up & Change the Shape

Mix up the clay completely and then rub it into the shape of a strip as the image shows.

Step 3: Cut and Make Shape

Cut the long clay into small clays of different lengths with scissors. These small and different clays will be rubbed into water drop’s shape by our hands. Remember to reserve a long one to be used as the stem of the succulent plants.

Step 4: Combination

Assemble the clay and paste the different sizes of clays onto the clay-stem as the image shows. This process will make the clay have a simple plant appearance.

Step 5: Baking

Baking: Take the assembled succulent plants into the oven and set the temperature as 120℃ to bake it for 8 to 10 minutes.

Step 6: Made the Wooden Base

During the processing time of the baking, we will make the wooden base. Take a wooden spoon and trim off the handle. Polish the incision of the spoon with sand paper.

Step 7: Drilling

Punch a small hole on one side of the wooden spoon.

Step 8: T-Pin

Make a T-Pin and make T-Pin go through the small hole. Then use pliers to make a small circle and get rid of the extra part.

Step 9: Cut and Combination

Clip the necklace and make it through the hole of the wooden base. Now the wooden base is connected with the necklace.

Step 10: Color

Take a small amount of pink pigment and adjust it well.

Step 11: Painting

After baking, the succulent plants will cool down and we will take a few pigments by a paint brush to paint on the top of the clay of the succulent plants. As the image shows.

Step 12: Paste It

Take some moss and stick the moss, succulent plants to the wooden spoon by glue. After the glue is dried, the product is complete.
