I really like the mountaineering boot look this year. Trouble is I don't have an extra $80 bucks to blow on a new pair. I remembered my mum saved an old pair of my leather boots. They were excellent quality (FYRE), so I decided to give them a makeover. Great thing is, it only cost me $20.00 big ones.

Step 1: Time to Lean...time to Clean

I started with rubbing alcohol to get the first layer of dirt off. These poor shoes have been abandoned in a garage for the last decade. Then I hit them up with saddle soap several times.

Step 2: Time to Get Tacky

I went online and decided I needed some new brackets or hooks. Ebay for just a few dollars. Then it's glue. I thought they would snap together and that would be all. But I was sorely mistaken. I'm not sure if there is some special tool, probably there is. But I just used some glue and pliers.

Step 3: Hop on the Fur Pile

I went to Joann fabrics and got some faux fur for the inside of the boot. I traced the tongue of the boot and cut the fabric to match. I did the same for the inside of the boot.
