Introduction: How Wind Turbines Work- Make a Working Wind Turbine Model!

Learn how to create your own working mini wind turbine!

Supplies

(In Tinkercad) 1 cube, 1 cylinder, 1 paraboloid, 1 torus, 1 pointed windmill blade, and 1 sphere.

Step 1:

Start with a cube. Make it flat, then change the color if you want.

Step 2:

Next add a cylinder and make it tall. Place it in the center of the flat cube.

Step 3:

Next you will need a paraboloid. You can find this shape in Basic Shapes, like the cube and the cylinder. Turn the paraboloid until it is horizontal. Place it on top of the cylinder.

Step 4:

in the Featured section, you will find a Pointed Windmill Blade. Set this aside from the tower, then grab a sphere. Put the sphere inside the blade, so the top is coming out of the blade on both sides.(see image for help). This time, instead of changing the color, press the 'hole' icon. This will make it so the blade can fit onto the tower if you print it using a 3D printer. Set it aside.

Step 5:

Use a sphere, making it small, and put it on the tip of the paraboloid. next use a torus, which is like a ring, and put id slightly behind the sphere. These will make sure the blade doesn't fall of the tower.

Step 6: (optional)
