Introduction: How to Root Your Droid Incredible! (Mac)

In this guide I'll show you a simple way to root your phone. This guide should work with recent HTC android phones.

This guide is for Macintosh computers ONLY!


Materials Needed:

1. Macintosh Computer
2. Usb sync cable for phone.
3. Rooting software



Step 1: Download the Software

In order to root. You need to download the correct software to root your phone.

To do that go to http://unrevoked.com and select your phone. Next, Click on the Unrevoked3 link. Click Download for Mac os.

The software should download.

Step 2: Step 2: Plug in Your Phone

Now plug in your phone to your computer.

Be sure to enable USB debugging on your phone.

To enable:

Go to: Settings > Applications > Development. Check USB debugging. This will allow the rooting program to function.

Step 3: Step 3: Open the Rooting Program.

Open the Unrevoked program and let it find your phone.

Once it detects your phone, it will start the rooting process.

you may see weird screens on your phone... relax. your phone is not being hurt, the program is rooting your phone.

Step 4: Finished!

That's it!

After the program finishes your phone should reboot the same as it did before with the addition of root permissions.

You might ask, "what can I do now?" well you are able to use root only apps, flash custom roms, kernals, radios, etc. you are also able to over clock your phones processor to make it faster if you desire.
