Introduction: How to Tie a Simple Fishing Knot

To tie a simple fishing knot you will first need to gather the materials for it. Then have patience because you may not get it first try. You also have to be careful because you are dealing with a sharp hook. You will need steady fingers and something that can easily grip the fishing line.

Step 1: Step 1

Gather all materials needed: Pliers (something that can cut the fishing line) or scissors. Fishing line, something to tighten the last piece of line to get a better grip (teeth work), and a hook to tie the fishing line too.

Step 2: Step 2

Put one end of the fishing line through the little hole in the hook. Then curve it up so it looks like a U almost.

Step 3: Step 3

Grab the end of the fishing line that went through the hole in the hook and cross it over with the line next to it, which is the line that hasn’t gone through the hole.

Step 4: Step 4

Bring that end of the line and loop it around the around the line that hasn’t gone through the loop 5-7 times. (Note: keep hold of the hook so it doesn’t unravel.)

Step 5: Step 5

Still holding on to the end piece of the fishing line bring it all the way back down to the bottom of the loops you made. You will see a little hole made from the lines. Put the end line through it. (Note: keep hold of the hook so it doesn’t unravel)

Step 6: Step 6

When you put it through that hole you can see another hole that has been created. You then put the same end piece of the line through it and tighten it very well with something that can get a good grip on the line, teeth work well.

Step 7: Step 7

When you tighten it the piece of line that you used to tighten the knot should be leftover. You then grab your pliers or scissors and cut that end piece of the line as close as possible to the knot you created.

Step 8: Final

You are now done with the knot and it should look like this , this knot works very well and is one of my favorite ones to use.
