Introduction: 4th of July Star Shield Nail Art
I wanted something fun and simple for the 4th of July and I came up with this. It was a little difficult for me since I'm a horrible drawer, but I don't think you need to be great at drawing to do this :)
Step 1: Supplies
Supplies:
- Blue Nail Polish
- Red Nail Polish
- White Nail Polish
- Clear Top Coat
- Nail Brush
Step 2: Base and Design
Start off by putting down a red base.
I wanted to show you what I'm trying to achieve here. I wanted to do something flag-like, but not with as much detail. So I decided to do a red base, with a blue outlined white star. I thought it was kind of like a shield. Like Captain America!

Step 3: White Star
Take your white nail polish and the nail brush and draw on your star. The first go smeared the red. I gave that time to dry and then put on another white layer on the star. This covered it pretty nice.
You are going to outline it in blue so make sure you leave room around the white star for that.

Step 4: Blue Star Outline
Time to outline the white star with the blue! I wasn't sure if it would be better to put down a blue star and fill in the middle with white or do the white star and outline with blue. I decided the later would be easier.
Carefully outline the white star. I partially overlapped the white and partially the red. One coat wasn't enough. I actually did like 2 and another touch up.
Put the top coat on when it's all dry and you are done!
Don't forget to clean your brush!
