Introduction: Black Mirror
About The Project
It’s an entertaining, relaxing speaker which can be in balance with a minimalistic design of a room. It provides a unique experience of manipulating music accompanied by an exquisite visualization of movement in a ferrofluid surface. We call it the Black Mirror.
Step 1: List of Parts Required
Arduino - 1
Led Lights - 1
Ultrasonic Sensors - 2
Servo Motor -2
Magnets - 8
Jumper Wires
Iron Powder
Mineral Oil
Step 2: How Does It Work?
Step 1 - Making the ferrofluid
To make the magnetic ferrofluid the iron powder with the mineral oil to get the right consistency.
Step 3: Step 2 - Building the Arduino Circuit
Step 4: Step 3 - the Code
We developed our code to control and test our circuit, to make sure it worked as per our requirement.
Step 5: Step 4 - the Structure
We designed and laser cut the casing for the speaker case.
Step 6: Step 4 - the Structure - Placing the Magnet
We created supporting structure to place the magnets on the servos. Also, laser cut an inner shelf to put the magnets on below the iron liquid.
Step 7: Step 5 - Adding Music Volume Control Feature to the Ultrasonic
We used the Max console software to code the volume control feature of music with ultrasonic sensor.
