Introduction: Boracho Dogs

About: I live with my wife and children in Fort Worth, TX. We enjoy day-trips and junk stores. I'm a firm believer that homemade food tastes better and I love to try new recipes. When I can, I like to head out to the…

I lived in Spain for several years when I was in my early 20's. It was very enjoyable sight seeing and experiencing the culture of southern Spain. Of course, I also enjoyed spending time at bars and discos! I was amazed at how late the locals would celebrate.

Of course, staying out that late meant needing something to eat besides the standard tapas. It seemed nearly every dance club had vendors outside selling hot dogs.

Not just any hot dogs, though. My friends and I referred to them as boracho dogs. In case your Spanish is rusty, that would be drunk dogs.

As always, thanks for reading!

Step 1: Ingredients

Hot dogs, of course.

Buns

Pork and beans (Yes, really)

Crushed potato chips

Mayonnaise (mayonesa)

Ketchup (salsa de tomate)

Mustard (mostaza)

Step 2: Put It Together

The hot dogs from the food carts seemed to be boiled but I chose to grill mine instead.

Load it down with everything. Yes, even the ketchup......

I've heard that some people put bacon on these as well, but I never saw any when I was in Spain, so I'll forgo it.

Step 3: Eat It!!

Stuff your face and soak up some of that booze. Or enjoy them sober! Your choice.
