Introduction: COLLECTION OF LAND SCAPING IDEAS and Other Things.

About: I am married with two children. Spring, summer, and fall are my very favorite times of the year. I enjoy working in the yard, sewing, cooking, quilting, gardening, and creating. I do this to keep my sanity.
We are in the middle of landscaping our yard and my husband has collected things to use.  Here are some of his collections.  Here he used concrete blocks in a flower bed.  He wanted to use something he could weed whack around the flowers with out damaging the flowers.  It works very well with little effort.

Step 1: Glass Jar Protects Tree From Post

Here he used a glass jar to protect a young trees bark  from  scraping against a metal post.

Step 2: ROCKS FOR FLOWER BED BOARDERS

Here he made raised flower beds using his collection of rocks he found.  He just laid out the boarder with the rocks and filled with dirt.  The next picture he just stacked up a bunch of rocks and left it that way.  I guess he plans on filling it with other shrubs and flowers.  It almost looks like a fountain.

Step 3: His Plans for a Green House

Here is a picture of sliding glass doors he is going to make a green house out of.  As you can see he has a lot of plans.  The next picture he used an old culvert for this vine.

Step 4: Plans for a Pond

Here is a soap pot he is going to make into a fish pond.  It is upside down by the way.

Step 5: TREE TRUNK FOR FLOWER POT

Here is a tree trunk we are going to use for a flower pot.  All we need to do is add the dirt and flowers, and find the right place in our yard.

Step 6: Concrete Slab for Trash Cans

Here he poured a concrete slab using large rocks to fill in for a slab for our trash cans.

Step 7: VALVE FOR TURNING ON AND OFF WATER AT HOSE

He has these connections on all our hoses he got from the hardware store so he does not have to go to the faucet to turn on and off the water.  They are wonderful!  We hand water all our stuff so it is a time saver, not to mention a back saver as well.

Step 8: UGLY TO PRETTY WATER METER

This was my idea.  I think water meters are sooo ugly!  I painted mine green and planted shrubs around it.

Step 9: METAL BED FRAMES FOR TRELLIS

HE IS SAVING THESE METAL BED FRAMES FOR A TRELLIS.

Step 10: PIPE HAND RAILS

Here he made hand rails out of old rusty pipe and cuplings welded together.  I painted them because they looked ugly.  Now I like them.

Step 11: PERCHER FROM AN OLD PIECE OF CONCRETE CULVERT

We were out in the country looking for rock and I found this piece of concrete and had my husband stop.  He asked what are you going to do with that?  I said I don't know but I will figure it out.  I decided it would make a great percher for my tired feet after working in the yard.  It is perfect and it looks pretty nice too!

Step 12: OLD WATER METER FOR PERCHER

Here is another one of our perchers for our tired bodies while needing a break in the yard.

Step 13: FUTURE FLOWER POT

I found this in one of our out door outings but have no idea what it is.   I am going to hang it outside the door of our storage unit when it is built and plant red flowers in it.

Step 14: KEEPING TOOL HANDLES SMOOTH

Here he used a bicycle tire tube to cover his garden handle.  He slipped it over the top of the rake and rolled it over the handle.  He said it was kind of hard to do but it has protected the handle very nicely.  He also used PVC tape for the wheel barrow.

Step 15: PROTECTING TREES FROM DOGS

Here he used pallet slips he got free for protecting our trees from the dogs chewing on them.  He uses these pallet slips for keeping weeds out and places them in muddy areas and for storing outdoor stuff so weeds don't grow under stuff.

Step 16: Refrigerator Shelf for House Foundation Vents.

Here he used a refrigerator shelf for foundation vents.  It works nicely and keeps animals from getting under the house.    He used a rock to brace it.
