Introduction: Chili Powder Sugar Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Pinch of chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
12 Tablespoons of unsalted room temperature butter(Earth Balance)
1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
1 Tablespoon of ground flax seed (let sit in 3 Tablespoons of water for 5 minutes)
First mix together the dark brown sugar with the butter, then add the ground flax/ water. In another bowl combine the rest of the ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt, chili powder, cinnamon). Combine both mixtures until the ingredients are a smooth cookie batter. Cover mixture and place in your refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Put oven at 375 degrees
Take cookie batter out of fridge and taste it. Line tray with parchment paper and scoop out a little more then a teaspoon of batter(roll in ball). Leave about two inches between each ball. Place in oven for about 8 minutes, or until edges are ready. Take out and let sit for a few minutes! The cookies taste like a perfect combination of cookie and spice. Since we do not really get a fall in Savannah this was the perfect cookie to trick my mind into thinking it was fall.
