Introduction: Chocolate Mint Martini Cupcakes
I absolutely adore making martini cupcakes. They have the added look of being in the shape of actual martini glasses.
Since martini shaped cupcake molds don't actually exist, you first need to make your own out of aluminum foil! Download the martini cupcake mold template to make this process super easy.

Step 2: Make the Mold
Use the template to make the cupcake molds out of aluminum foil. The goal is to shape a cone out of tin foil. You can either do this by using the template as a template for the tinfoil. Or you can shape the cone out of paper and then mold the tin foil over the paper (just be sure to remove the paper before baking!)
To make the cone mold, cut the template at the cut line. Then take the CUT LINE and bring it to the CONE LINE. If using paper, tape it. If using tinfoil, fold the tin foil over to secure the shape.
Place the homemade molds into a cupcake mold to balance them. You might have put them into every other hole to fit.
Step 3: Mix Batter and Bake
Mix the batter according the package instructions. Add in the Kahlua and peppermint extract with the wet ingredients.
Bake as directed, minus a few minutes to ensure the bottoms don’t burn.
Step 4: Sugar Rim
I actually did this step out of order, but the correct way to go about this is to add the sugar to the rim prior to putting in the cupcake. Simply flip the glass over and dip it into a plate with water or corn syrup. Then dip it into a plate of sprinkles.
Step 5: Mix Batter
Beat the butter until smooth. Then gradually add the powdered sugar.
Then add the salt, vanilla extract, and Bailey’s. Add 2 Tablespoons to start and then add more, 1 Tablespoon at a time to taste. Make sure to not add too much or it will get to liquidy.
Then if you want to signal that it’s mint flavored, add a few drops of green food coloring.
Step 6: Pipe Frosting
Pipe the frosting on top to complete your martini cupcakes!
