Introduction: Cool Portable Fan / Duct Fan
Welcome to this Instructable on how to build a duct fan! For this project, I made a cool duct fan that helps to keep fumes away when soldering. It can also be used as a portable fan on a hot summer day. This project is easy to complete. Let's get started!
Supplies
To build a duct fan, you will need the following supplies:
- 3D Printer, any type of filament
- Mini rocker switch
- 1000 mAh LiPo battery
- 80x80 mm fan 5 - 24 V
- DC-DC Step Up Converter
- 4x M3x18mm Screws
- 2x M3x8mm Screws
Step 1: Prepare the Frame
3D print the parts. It should be printed with support material, orientation does not matter.
Step 2: Attach the Fan
Using 4x M3x18mm screws attach the fan to the frame as shown in the picture.
Step 3: Attach the Step Up Converter
Now attach the boost converter to the frame as shown in the picture. 2 screws in a diagonal will be sufficient.
Step 4: Glue the Switch
The rocker switch should be glued to the side of the frame.
Step 5: Wire Diagram
Connect the cables as shown in the picture and close the cover. Finished!
