This project will hopefully plant the desire to create a lot of diy things in your mind. It is very easy made and leaves a lot of options to yourself.

What you need:

15 jumbo sticks

10 junior sticks

glue (the one on the picture is especially for wooden things)

scissors

Step 1: Cut the Jumbo Sticks

At the first step you have to cut the 15 jumbo sticks by cutting the ends like you see it on the picture.

Step 2: Cut the Junior Sticks

At the next step you have to cut the junior sticks. They should have a total length of 9 cm.

Step 3: Glue Everything Togehter

Glue four jumbo sticks and two junior sticks togehter. You may want to place something heavy on top of it to make shure it will stick. Leave at least 5 mm space at the edges. You need two of these sides, so repeat everything for another piece.

Step 4: Cut the Jumbo Sticks in Half

Now you cut four jumbo sticks in half to create the smaller side of your box.

Step 5: Glue Them Together

Glue four small jumbo und two normal junior sticks together like you did it before. Repeat everything for a second one. Now you (hopefully) have two big sides and two small sides for your box.

Step 6: Glue the Sides Together

For the next step glue one small and one big side togehter. Hold it for one or two minutes to help it stick and leave it to fully dry for 15 minutes (depends on your glue). Repeat everything for the second piece.

Step 7: Bottom

For the bottom you will need your last three jumbo sticks and one junior stick which you have to cut in half. Glue again everything together. You can also use a clamp to help it stick.

Step 8: Complete Your Box

For the last step you glue all of your pieces together. When the sides are dry (better wait again for 15 minutes) , you glue the bottom on top for finishing your box.

Step 9: Finish

Your own diy pencil holder is finished. You can also use it as a gift box, make it higher or smaller, use only junior sticks and of course color it if you want.
