Introduction: Crochet Bucket Hat

I made this simple, easy hat that is good for fall, and it looks good for any occation.

Supplies

This hat fits teenagers, and to make that size you need:

  • medium weight 4 yarn
  • J size hook [6.00 mm], scissors
  • yarn needle

Step 1:

Ch (Chain) 11, single crochet in the second stitch from the hook, single crochet in the remaining 9 chains.

Step 2:

Ch 1 turn your work, single crochet into the back loops of every stitch, but at the last stitch go into both loops of the stitch.

Step 3:

Ch 1 turn your work, continue crocheting in the back loop only for 61 rows, but always at the last stitch go into both loops of the stitch.

Step 4:

Ch 1 turn your work, insert your hook into the back loop of the stitch and the first chain of your first row, and slip stitch them together, continue this till the end of the row.

Step 5:

Ch 1, half double crochet two stitches into the hill, and continue this till the end of the round, before you slip stitch into the first stitch of the round, place a half double crochet into the slope that's in between the stitch you just made and the first stitch you made at the beginning of the round.

Step 6:

Slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, half double crochet into the back loops of every stitch of this round.

Step 7:

Slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, half double crochet into the back loops of every stitch of this round, and for 2 more rounds.

Step 8:

Slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, half double crochet into the back loops of 5 stitches then do a half double crochet decrease, repeat till end of the row.

Step 9:

Slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, half double crochet into the back loops of 4 stitches then do a half double crochet decrease, repeat till end.

Step 10:

Slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, half double crochet into 3 stitches but go into both loops of the stitch, then do a half double crochet decrease, repeat till end.

Step 11:

Slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, half double crochet into 2 stitches but go into both loops of the stitch, then do a half double crochet decrease, repeat till end.

Step 12:

Slip stitch chain 1 turn your work, half double crochet 1 stitch, but go into both loops of the stitch, then so a half double crochet decrease, repeat till end.

Step 13:

slip stitch, chain 1, turn your work, do half double crochet decreases in every stitch of this round.

Step 14:

Fasten off [cut your yarn leaving a long tail] and weave in your ends.

To close up your hole in the hat take your yarn needle that has the long tail on it and go through the the remaining stitches and when your done pull on the tail and the hole will disappear, then weave in the rest of your ends.
