Introduction: Crochet Your Own Jack O LANTERN Applique
ALL HAIL THE GREAT PUMPKIN
Hi guys, welcome to my another instructable. Today I just thought to make an applique which can be used for many purposes. This applique can be made within 15 mins and is best suited for last minute DIY's. Here I have attached the applique to a hairband and a hairclip to show you some examples .This applique is fun and easy to make and is best suited for beginners. So lets get started.
Supplies
MATERIALS REQUIRED
1. Scrap yarns ( orange, green, brown ) { you can also use other colours of yarn try to be creative as possible }
2. crochet hook
3. tapestry needle
4. black thread ( for eyes and mouth )
ABBREVATIONS
mg-magic ring
dc-double crochet
hdc-half double crochet
ch-chain
rep-repeat
inc-make two dc's in the same stich
sc-sing
Step 1: MAKING THE PUMPKIN
Start making the pumpkin using orange yarn
ROW 1 Make a magic ring with 7 dc
ROW 2 Now make 2 dc into each stich (rep [7])
Fasten off and weave in ends
Step 2: MAKING THE STEM
Use brown yarn for the stem
ROW 1 Start by inserting the hook into any of the stich and make 4 chains
ROW 2 Make 3 sc from the 2 nd chain of your hook
Fasten off and weave the tail into the pumpkin
Step 3: MAKING THE LEAF
Use green yarn for the leaf
ROW 1 Start by inserting the hook into the stich which is next to the stem and make 4 chains
ROW 2 Make 3 sc from the 2 nd chain of your hook
Fasten off and weave the tail into the pumpkin
THIS STEP WOULD BE THE SAME AS THE STEP FOR MAKING THE STEM
Step 4: MAKING THE TENDRIL
Use green yarn for the tendril
Start by inserting the hook into the stich which is next to the stem and make 7 chains
Fasten off an pull the tail to make a knot trim off the excess
AND DON'T FORGET TO SHOW OFF YOUR CREATIVITY
