Introduction: DIY IN-14 Nixie Clock
I made the entire clock according to this project. However, there are some differences:
- I installed everything on one side of the PCB
- I used a different high voltage power supply unit (see supplies for specific model)
- the enclosure is made of real wood and it doesn't have a lid
- I used a different RTC: DS3231
- I added a toggle switch
Supplies
Step 1: Step1: Gather the Components and Solder Everything in Place
I ordered every component that was listed in the project above and started to solder them onto the PCB.
Step 2: Step 2: Upload Code to the Arduino
I used the code in the linked project for testing, but used this RTC library for the DS3231.
Step 3: Step 3: Enclosure
I ordered a custom made wooden box from a local wood shop, and then painted it.
Step 4: Step 4: Clean Up the Arduino
Finally I desoldered the wires and 2 resistors from the arduino on top and soldered them to the bottom of the PCB.
