Introduction: D.I.Y. Prom Shoes!

1. I wanted to have unique and beautiful shoes for my senior prom. I looked online, and the one pair that i liked was $150. After already being a few hundred dollars into prom things, I figured I could just make my own prom shoes for much less. This whole project only cost me around $35. I started off by getting plain nude colored shoes that were on sale at Charlotte Russe for $10. Then I went to Michael's craft store and bought gem tac glue, which was perfect and dried clear. I also bought the variety size box of silver jewels. Then I found old tweezers that I used to grab the gems.

2. I had looked on youtube and saw a few tutorials on how to bedazzle shoes, so I thought I could give it a try.I did this entire project on my own because, being a perfectionist, I wanted my prom shoes to be just right. I started with pouring the jewels out onto my workspace. I had a small pool of glue that I would use. I picked up each gem individually and dipped it into the glue and placed it wherever on the shoe I wanted it. I started by doing the outside of the shoes, top and bottom all the way around. After the outline was done, I just filled in the spaces with the different size jewels.

3. I did this project at my house. It connected to my prom preperation because i needed to find shoes for prom.

4. The biggest challenge was just the amount of time that this project took. Since it was my first time, I didnt know what I was doing. I took my time to make sure that the shoes would look perfect. Im proud of how good they turned out in the end. When I show people a picture and thell them that I hand glued every gem, they don't believe it. If I were to do this project again, it wouldn't take me as much time because now im confident in my gem placement.

If you have any questions or comments about the shoes or if you need me to clarify something for you, leave me a comment below. Thanks!
