Introduction: Delicious Tropical Sorbet Bars
I've always wanted to be able to make healthy ice cream bars. It's a great activity that my god sisters (ages 8, 5, and 3) and I could do, because it's hard to get hurt, and the results are great.
Well, what happened was that I recently discovered an amazingly delicious smoothie recipe. I made about 3 times before I realized freezing it was a good idea. I froze it and it was terrific.
But I wasn't content, I took it up a notch and my next round I made a 3 layer, healthy, delicious sorbet bar.
It was fabulous, so I now HAVE to show you my recipe.
I hope you enjoy it and make tons!

- Grapefruit Juice (or orange if you insist)
- Banana
- Ice
- Frozen (or fresh Strawberries)
Tools:

- Freezer

Step 2: Smoothies Part 1:
The smoothie is probably the hardest part in the recipe and it's pretty darn easy to make. These smoothies are delicious plain, or even better with a large scoop of mango sorbet in them. YUM!
Step 1: In your blender add one banana and blend. This may seem odd but it makes the smoothie easier to make because if you added everything and blended it would be chunky, and too thick to blend.
Step 2: Add a cup and a half of grapefruit juice (or orange) and blend until it's almost or pretty much smooth.

Step 3: Smoothie Part 2:
You probably have a big glop of gloop now. Well, not to worry.
Step 3: Add a two cups of frozen (or fresh) strawberries into your smoothie. Blend until the strawberries only have small lumps left.
Step 4: Add a cup and a half of mango sorbet and blend until your smoothie is silky smooth.
Step 5: I love my smoothies super thick, so I also add about 1-2 cups of ice and blend. It just adds the perfect consistency. This is an optional, but lovely step.

Step 4: Layer #1: Tropical Smoothie
Now that your smoothie is finished you have to add the first layer to your bars; the smoothie.
Step 1: Pour your smoothie into a pan (preferably one of the bendy pans, that makes getting the sorbet bars out of the pans a breeze.
Step 2: Gently shake: gently shake the pan from side to side to make the smoothie even.
Step 3: Put the pan in the freezer for 3-4 hours or until firm and your ready for layer 2.

Step 5: Layer #2: Mango Sorbet
The second layer took me a while to figure out how to put it one. First I used a knife and tried to spread the frozen sorbet onto the smoothie. It didn't work at all, I tried several other methods (one included throwing the whole pan in the microwave) but I finally came up with one good one.
(the pictures are pictures of my 3rd idea, so your will look a bit different)
Step 1: Take a nice plentiful bowl of mango sorbet and pop it into the microwave until it is a liquid. Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, remembering to stir.
Step 2: Pour you liquid over your smoothie and pop it back into the freezer for about 2-3 hours.

Step 6: Layer #3: Grapefruit Juice/Juice
Since sorbet is suppose to stay nice and fluffy (not become rock hard) I wasn't sure if the sorbet layer would freeze very well so I came out with a great idea. Another layer.... of juice.
Step 1: Remove your sorbet bars from the freezer and pour a layer of grapefruit juice over the pan.
Step 2: Pop it back into the freezer for 4 hours to overnight.
-note-
Some people are keen to the bitterness of grapefruit, instead you can substitute will a juice of your choice.

Step 7: Packaging Your Bar
Now that you have some delicious bars, you probably want to clean you pan and get to eat your bars, you can do it multiple ways but this is how I do it.
Step 1: Take a sharp knife and wash it in hot water.
Step 2: While the knife is still hot cut up your giant bar into pieces.
Step 3: Package your bars in plastic bags and freeze at least 2-3 hour. (overnight is preferred)

Step 8: Enjoy Your Healthy Treats!
Now that you done, enjoy your Healthy treats. They taste great, and can last weeks (only count on them being there a few days/minutes).
Enjoy! And keep on making those sorbet bars!
Good night everyone! :D And again, enjoy!
