Introduction: Density Tower Science Experiment for Kids

With this simple experiment, you can test the density of different things and impress your kids with colorful patterns.

Supplies

You need:

- Maple sirup

- Dish soap

- Water & cood color

- Oil

- Sugar pearls & crisps

- A glass

and just a few minutes of time.

Step 1:

We mix the water with the red food color.

Step 2:

We pour the most dense liquid into a glass, which is in our case the maple sirup.

Step 3:

Then we carefully add the dish soap.

Step 4:

The water with the red food color carefully into the glass so the layers don't mix.

Step 5:

And finally, we add the oil. Ready is the density tower.

Step 6:

We can now test the density of different materials like the crisps which will float on the surface or we can use sugar pearls, which sink. And if you like, you can also try it with corn.

Step 7:

So if your kids are still bored, you can pimp the experiment by adding a bathing tablet. It will lead to colorful swirls and sprays across the density layers and is a joy to watch for children and parents
