Introduction: Dustpan & Broom Wheelchair Holder
Our project deals with the daily need of cleaning a home with a broom for wheelchair-bound users.
Specifically for manual wheelchairs.
We designed 2 components:
The first component concerns connecting a dustpan to the wheelchair while at the same time giving the dustpan the ability to move in a range of motion that adapts itself to the user with the floor.
The 2nd component permanently attaches a broom stick that the user can connect to the wheelchair.
This will allow the user bound to a wheelchair to easily move within their home with a broom and dustpan, so that they can clean their home independently.

P.S. It is important to note that the model is adapted to the specific wheelchair dimensions (attached to this link: https://www.lindsrehab.com.au/wheelchairs/breezy-rubix-xl.html)
You can change the dimensions and parts according to your personal needs.

Step 1: CNC Cut
bring the piece of oke to the CNC machine and send the files.
Important notes for the CNC operator:
1. the round hole in the file "dustpan body" is not cut to the end. The depth of the hole is 23mm or 5mm before the end of the part (depending on the thickness of your wood).
2. the hole in the file "dustpan pivot" is not cut to the end. The depth of the hole is 26mm or 2mm before the end of the part (depending on the thickness of your wood).
Take the components and sand them around carefully (without damaging the shape).
Step 2: Drill a Hole
Connect the two components together (similar to the image) one inside the other.
Drill with an 8mm drill bit hole, according to the position of the hole on "dustpan pivot" component.
Drill through all the components.
Step 3: Sanding & Inserting the Holder
Take the holder and mark the dimensions needed for sanding
The holder must be sanded to the required dimensions so that it enters the rail in the dustpan pivot.
The measurements can be taken from the image in front of you.
After the holder is sanded, it should be inserted through the rail
***Please note that we bought our broom holder at a local store.
In the links fill at the "Introduction" above we put an option for the international purchase online for the broom holder (Changes should be made in accordince to the size of the holder in the files to the machine)
Step 4: Screw & Knob Connection
First insert the Female Chicago Screw (1) into the hole
Second, screw the Grip Knobs (2) to the other side and in the Female Chicago Screw
Step 5: Tube Cutting
Cut a 19mm aluminum tube in to 20 cm length
Step 6: Tube Connection
Insert the aluminum tube into the bottom hole of the Dustpan Body
Second, drill the 4mm screw to the center of the Dustpan Body back and through the tube to strengthen the connection between the components.
Step 7: Milling
Take the component of the broom to the milling machine and cut according to the dimensions in the image. Make sure the milling depth is 3mm
Step 8: Drilling
Drill a hole in the center (with a 4mm drill bit) through the entire component
Step 9: Broomstick
Measure 90cm on the broomstick and cut it. (Or a length that is convenient for you)
Step 10: Drilling
Connect the broom component with the broom stick in the center of the stick with a 4mm screw
Step 11: Glueing the Holder
Take the other holder and sand it to the required dimensions
Then glue with epoxy glue (two-component) to create a strong bond
Let it dry.
Step 12: Install
Install the components on the wheelchair.
