What inspired me?

Well, I love this website and I enjoy the contests. A day or two ago I was looking through the contests as I noticed they had been updated. I noticed a cardboard contest and instantly began coming up with a few ideas. I immediately focused on simple projects such as this one. On top of this im currently designing a mini golf course for a children and family sea side themed event in my local area.

Anyway, I automatically thought of Cardboard phone stands. After a few minutes of looking I noticed the '5 minute' title was very popular so I began to design one. This was very straight forward and simple so I instantly came up with a simple structure and began to make it.

What will you need?

- Corrugated cardboard

- sharp scissors

- A broad marker or sharpie

- 30cm ruler

- 5 minutes of cutting and folding

Step 1: Marking Out Your Stand

Step one - Marking out your stand

Feel free to design your own structure but this step will cover what I dud and my design. It is very simple but if you need help feel free to comment.

On your card, measure a straight line that is 11cm. When this is done, draw a 90 degree line from both sides that are 3cm high. Mark on 1cm left and right so it looks like the pictures. Mark on both sides 1.5cm down. Mark on 5cm parallel to the bottom line on both sides so it follows the picture. Mark on both sides a 90 degree line that is 6cm high. Join these two lines up with a straight line.

Step 2: Cutting the Card

Step two - Cutting the card

Cutting the card is quite time consuming and can be dangerous only due to the sharp implements used when cutting the net. If the scissors get awkward, use a box cutter or utility knife. If you do this make sure you use a cutting mat and make sure to focus on what youre doing.

When the net has been cut, use the ruler to double check all of the dimensions in order to make sure your phone will fit on it.

Step 3: Folding

Step three - Folding

This structure now needs a final fold so your phone can sit on it. Use your ruler to make a crease in the centre running 90 degrees from the bottom line. This will make it alot easy to fold. Anyway, fold as much as you can and then leave for the card to flex back j to the straight form. Do this about 4-5 times and the card should stay folded.

Step 4: Finished!!

Finished!!

This has been a 5 minute project but dont stop there!!! You can add a range of features that will enhance the products aesthetics. For example stickers, graphics, colours and wording!

Thank you so much for reading and if you have enjoyed, favourite and follow for more projects. Feel free to check out the other Instructables I have done and keep updated as I lost weekly!!!
