Step 1: Ingredients
You will need:
Materials
- A fork and spatula
- Scales
- Saucer/Pot
- A bowl
- A loaf tin
- Tissue
Ingredients
- 125g of butter
- 150g of caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 or more very ripe bananas
- 190g of self raising flour
- 60ml of milk
- 1 egg
OR
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 3/4 cup of caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 or more very ripe bananas
- 1 and 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon of flour
- 60ml of milk
- 1 egg
Step 2: Loaf Tin
Grease your loaf tin. I used some butter on a tissue but you can use greaseproof paper, a bit of olive oil etc.
Something like this is perfect:

Step 3: Bananas
Mush your bananas with a fork in a bowl. This should be fairly easy because they are very ripe. It is better to use very ripe bananas because it accentuates the banana(ery) flavour!
Step 4: Melt...melt..melt
Add your sugar, butter and vanilla extract into a saucepan/pot. Melt it under a medium heat, it should bubble and melt away. Make sure everything is melted. Once it has melted, take it off the heat.
Step 5: Mix...mix...mix
Add your melted butter, sugar and vanilla into the bowl of mashed bananas. Mix well, then add in the egg. Mix, and then add in the flour. Mix well. Yes, it looks disgusting but trust me it is delicious!
Step 6: Nearly Done!
The mixture shold look something like this. Transfer it to your loaf tin and place it in the oven at 170 C / Fan 150 C / Gas 3 or 340 F for 35 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean. Leave to cool and enjoy!
