Step 1: Gather Your Materials

For this project you will need:

1. Wood

2. A 1/4" wooden dowel

3. Wood glue

4. 2 screw hooks

5. 24" Bungee cord

6. Ruler

7. Push-pin

Tools you will need:

1. Table saw

2. Power Drill

3. Safety goggles (Always use when working with power tools)

Step 2: Draw Out the Dimensions and Cut Your Wood

1. Draw out the dimensions and cut your wood. You will need:

- Five 12" long pieces that are 1.5" wide

- Two 14" long pieces that are 1.5" wide

- One piece that is 10.5" long and 1.5" wide

- One piece that is 14" long and 2.5" wide (for the arm of your catapult)

Step 3: Cut Your Wood

1. Drill a 1/4" hole in the pieces that are 14" long and 1.5" wide, 3 inches from the top of each piece

2. On the 14" pieces saw halfway through the wood 5 inches and 6 1/5 inches from the top. Chisel out the wood to make a notch like shown

3. Drill a 1/4" hole in the piece that is 14" long and 2.5" wide, 1/2" from the top (the arm of the catapult)

Step 4: Put Together the Base

1. Glue the 12" pieces to the 14" pieces like shown, with the notches facing inwards

Step 5: Attach the Other Pieces

1. Glue the 12" pieces in the notches like shown

2. Glue the 10.5" piece on top of the 12" pieces like shown

3. Glue the last 12" piece going diagonally from the center of the base to the center of the 10.5" piece

Step 6: Attach the Arm

1. Put the wooden dowel through the arm (the 14" piece that is 2.5" wide)

2. Put the dowel through the holes in the base, like shown in the picture above

Step 7: Screw in the Hooks

1. Drill a 1/4" hole in the arm, 1" from the top

2. Drill a 1/4" hole in the middle of the 12" piece on the front of the catapult, as shown in the picture

3. Screw in the hooks

Step 8: Attach the Bungee Cord

1. Attach the bungee cord to the hooks

2. If the bungee cord is too long, tie it off

Step 9: Attach the Cup

1. Put the push-pin through the cup and into the wood like shown in the picture
