Introduction: Easy DIY Decoration

About: I LOVE! Recycling and keeping the cost low, ‘cause thats what D.I.Y. Is about! Let’s get creating!!!
This bookend works great and look modern and stylish. This is my first instructable and I hope you enjoy it!

Supplies

- Cardboard/Plastic mold
- Knife
- Fine Concrete
- Rubber Mallet (optional)
- Glue ( Hot Glue works Best)

Step 1: Optional

If you would like to repurpose it you can add a tube in the middle at the beginning and make it a flower pot instead!

Step 2: Find or Build the Mold You Are Going to Use.

In my case I built a hexagonal shape with card board and put oven paper in it so it wouldn’t stick when I get it out. If you do not want to go through the hassle of making the actual mold then you can buy one at the Home Depot.

Step 3: Make the Concrete Mixture.

Make sure the cement is fine like in the picture I used casting cement, mix according to the package. When it’s ready pour the mixture into your mold and set it overnight.

Step 4: Taking It Out of the Mold.

When you take it out of the mold you have it pull out the oven paper and peel it off, Sid you are using a plastic mold, lay it down on soft cloth and hit it gently with the rubber mallet a few times until it comes out. If it doesn’t come out hit it with increasing force.

Step 5: Your Done!!!

Now you have a beautiful decoration for placing on the table just for looks or using it as a bookend! Thanks for reading my instructable!
