Introduction: Extreme Way to Ask Girl to Prom/ Propose/ Project Pictures on Your House

About: I am just your average high school football team captain who happens to be a total nerd and loves electronics and making things... If only my brain were as big as my biceps....
Want to really knock a girl's socks off? this is the right instructable for you! This Project was created as a way to ask my girlfriend to prom. I wanted to take asking her to the next level and make it extreme so I projected the Question "Prom?" in Huge letters Probably about 20 feet across on the front of my house so when she drove up to my house she would see it. The project is fairly simple to make and is really cool and a lot of fun to play with when you are done. This instructable was made for the make it extreme contest and is extreme because its an extreme way to ask to prom and uses an extreme spotlight! Please Vote for my project in the Make it Extreme contest if you like it! and if you hate it well thanks for looking anyway!

Step 1: Materials and Tools

Materials required:

Some sort of spotlight-  I used this but one similar to the other one in the image could be used as well.
Transparency film - I got this (For inkjet printers but they also are available for laser printers)
Duct Tape- any opaque color will work (black or grey, don't get clear)
a Fresnel lens- the one i use is no longer being carried but something like this should work.

Tools:

Printer
Scissors
some sort of program to make an image on
The one I used is in the above photos

Step 2: Print the Transparency of What You Want to Project

Either use the image from the last step or print out whatever image you want on your transparency film and then cut it out.

Step 3: Tape!

Place the Cut out image in the center of whatever light source you are using- *make sure you place it upside down and backwards- and cover the rest of the lens surrounding the light in duct tape.

Step 4: Go Use It and Impress Your Girlfriend/ Fiancee!

Time to turn it on and use it! This is where the Fresnel lens comes in. Place the spotlight on the ground and turn it on. Hold the lens in front of the light so that the image is projected right through the center of it and move the lens towards and away from the light until the image is in crystal clear focus.
