Step 3: Heat the Oil
WARNING!!! risk of severe burns if done improperly, i am not at fault for you not paying attention''''
add your oil to your pan till it is about 1 1/2 inches from the top
HEAT SLOWLY this take a little bit of time
it will be hot enough when you start to see smoke lightly coming from the oil
you can drop a small test amount in the oil to verify it's hot enough, you are looking for the oil to bubble around the mix

do your best to

use the spoon while holding the stuck cake and cover the treat in batter.
WARNING: do not try to dunk the cake in the batter, you will only make a mess as the cake will break off the stick and crumble into the batter

Step 6: Start Frying
WARNING!! another chance to burn yourself.
if you oil is too hot when you place a covered cake in the oil the oil will pop and splatter. keep you oil on a low setting. once it gets hot it will stay hot enough to get the job done
Remember low and steady heat
using your tongs to hold the stick, gently place the batter covered cake into the hot oil
after 90 seconds has passed use the tongs again to gently turn over the cake
you are looking for a uniform light to medium brown color steady

Step 7: Drain Excess Oil
cover a plate in napkins and use it as a draining board for your cakes
if/when the napkins become transparent, use new napkins

Step 8: Arrange and Powder
after they have drained, move them to another plate and arrange them however you wish and lightly powder them
a easy way i like to use powdered sugar is to use a small plastic mesh handheld colander, it helps give it that light sprinkle look
