Introduction: Godiva Liqueur Cupcakes
These are fantastic and a perfect edition to an adult cocktail party or a Mom's Night..or for anything really :)
Use your favorite chocolate cake recipe, I love Martha Stewart's One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake recipe. This recipe makes 24 cupcakes.
Pour about 2 tablespoons of the new Godiva Chocolate Liqueur into a bowl and have a brush ready. As the cupcakes are done baking and still warm, brush the tops with the liqueur. Once cooled, prepare to ice.
I used the following buttercream recipe.
4 sticks unsalted butter, room temp
5 cups confectionery sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
6 tablespoons Godiva liquer
Whip the butter until light and fluffy. Slowly add in sugar until desired consistency for piping. Add in the vanilla and half of the liquer. This is the fun part, taste your icing. Decide how you like the strength of the liqueur, either stay as is or add more. If the icing is too thin, add more sugar.
Pipe onto cupcakes and enjoy. I also enjoy some shredded chocolate on top.
