Introduction: HOME MADE HAT HOOK
My computer stand never seems to have enough hat hooks on it.
Step 1: STEP ONE: TAKE a CEILING FAN DOWN AND GET READY TO TOSS IT.
Sometimes a ceiling fan gets old, and replacement is necessary.
You might want to save a few of the parts, such as the fan blade attachment arm.
Then you screw the attachment arm to a wall , or a cabinet, and hang a hat or jacket on it.
I put a couple up in the garage as well to hang rope and extension cords. Then I saved a bunch of others.
Couple years later......
Today, (8May24), I invented a new use for the fan blade holders.
Lovey loves to plant, transplant, and grow plants. (Okayyyyy!)
Fertilizers, special soils, and worm poop, all go into their own galvanized storage to be out of weather until used. When you get into the storage can, (Galvanized Garbage Can!), you generally put the lid, on the ground to step on, or against a tree to fall on the ground to step on, or somewhere out of the way to avoid stepping on it. Has to be a large flat area, like the top of the A/C unit, or on the picnic table, or occupying the chair you will want to sit in two minutes later and then gotta find a new place.
So one hook, two #10 bolts & nuts, and we're in business in a second! just hook the lid to the side of the can! I organized the hook with the flat of the handle, but the two bolt heads indicate as well.
Drill a 3/16" hole, place bolt into lid and hook, nut up. Use hook's other hole to place second hole in lid. Bolt and nut! Whalla! (That's French for, "See What I Did!?"
