Introduction: Hackintosh: Dual Boot Dell GX270
After much trial and error I have successfully dual booted Windows XP and iPC 10.5.6 with no problems at all. In this instructable, I will show you how to dual boot Windows XP and iPC 10.5.6, keep in mind, this instructable is for educational purpose only and should not be reproduced at home....Lets Get Started!
Step 1: What You Need
Step 2: Burn ISO to a Disk
Step 3: Install Mac OSX
- Insert your iPC install disk
- Turn on your computer
- Press f12
- Press any key at prompt
- Wait about five minuets for the boot screen to load
- Select your language and press enter
- Select Utilities and then Disk Utility
- Click On your Hard Drive
- Click on the partition tab
- Select Partitions
- Click on Two Partitons
- Click Partition
- Press close
- Select Next, Accept, Then Select The Partition you made for Mac OSX
- Select Next, Then Customize
- Click here for what you need to select in the customize option
- Install Mac OSX
- Restart your computer
- Insert your windows install disk
- Install windows
- Repeat Steps 1-6
- Select Utilities, then Terminal
- Type: diskutil list
- Verify which disk number holds your partition (disk0 or disk1 - This is your Hard Drive)
- If you installed Mac on disk0, then type fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0
- Ignore the error (fdisk: could not open MBR file...)
- Type: p
- Verify which partition mac is installed on (1, 2, 3, ect.)
- Type: f 1 (put your partition number here)
- Type: write
- Type: y
- Type: exit
- Press The X button
- Press Mac OSX Installer
- Press Quit Mac OSX Installer
- Restart
- Your Done!
- Turn on your computer
- Press f12
- Press any key at prompt
