Introduction: Halloween Ghost Child on a Swing (and on a Budget!)
I made this spooky looking ghost child and placed it on a swing in my front yard for Halloween.
For this, you don't need much and it's also super easy!
Supplies
You'll only need:
- Some wood (I used pallet wood, free!)
- Some cardboard, free!
- Some old, used child clothes. For anyone who has kids, you should have plenty of those.
- A white cloth for the head
- Some paper or plastic, free!
- Some wire
- Some paint
- A wig
Step 1: Child Structure
Using a plank of wood, make the spine and then add some width to it for the body. For the arms, I simply attached a wire to the spine and made it go left and right. It makes it easy to adjust this way.
Under the body, add 2 planks: one for each thigh, as a straight angle from the spine.
As you build the structure, ensure that you can put the clothes on it. Then use the white cloth and stuff it with paper or plastic. Once done, nail or staple the cloth to the spine. Add the wig on the head.
Step 2: Clothing and Filling
Now that you have the main structure, stuff the clothes with some cardboard, plastic bags or paper. Whatever you have at hand.
Step 3: Paint It Spooky
Add some random paint to make it look dirty and spooky.
Step 4: Place It on the Swing
Now place the child on the swing and make sure it's stable enough. Use the wire from the arms to attach it firmly.
For a better atmosphere, add some nice lighting and fog. There you go!
