Introduction: Harry Potter Gringotts Cart
The track was made using flex pvc and furring strips.
Step 1: Building the Body of the Cart
The shape for the wheels were traced and cut out on purple insulation board using a electric foam cutter and then painted before they were added to the body. There are 4 large wheels and 4 small wheels. The body of the cart is a combination of 2x4's and insulation foam. To add to the shape, we added a spare roll of cardboard that we had and duck taped around it. Everything is screwed together using wood deck screws and reinforced with Gorilla heavy duty construction adhesive.
Step 2: The Wall
The exterior wall where it appears that the cart has crashed out of was built using two 4x8 pieces of purple insulation foam joined together using 3 simple hinges, one on top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. This allows for easier movement and storage. The foam was given an aged stone look using a router and then painted. Finally, we measured and cut a jagged hole where we set up a faux fire appearance.
