Velcro strips may need to be sewed on, ironed on, or glued on with a glue stick, but I choose a backside that glues to fabric. This is perfect and easiest for a pillow!

Step 1: Grab Your Materials and Tools
The steps vary a bit but the framework is the same. Grab your Velcro, your pillow, and your knife or scissors. We will be cutting into the pillow itself, so do not choose expensive memory foam pillows for this!
Step 2: Open the Pillow
Along the seam of one corner of the pillow, we want to open up the pillow. Using your knife, lightly push into the corner (knife always pointing away from yourself and anyone else) and cut downwards gently. If you use scissors, lightly poke the scissors into the corner and cut open the side.
The point is to have a normal looking pillow, so go slow and be exact. You only want to cut enough inches/centimeters to hold your valuables. In my example, I am hiding cash for a rainy day π΅πΆπ·
Step 3: Insert Valuables and Line Up Your Velcro
Once we have inserted our valuables and ensured they are sitting where we want them, we want to line up the Velcro strip inside the opening of the pillow. This is hard to see but on the inside "lip" of the pillow (inside where we cut it open), we will place a strip of Velcro.
At both ends of the place where I cut the pillow, I chose to use plastic clips to hold it in place to line up the Velcro, but it was not necessary.
Step 4: Secure Velcro Backing to Pillow
Once you have the correct size strip of Velcro inside the pillow, it should allow you to completely close your pillow. Take the backing off one side of the Velcro and attach it to the inside of the pillow, then do it for the other side. The Velcro should not be visible outside the pillow.
Once you have placed both Velcro strips, try closing them together to seal the pillow.
Step 5: Start Stashing Your Valuables!
Ta-da! You can sit back and relax knowing that your valuables will never bee seen! Not only are your valuables safe and hidden, but they can also be in quick reach for cases of emergency! Using this method can will cost you $10-20 but allow you to store tens of thousands of dollars (and potentially more) right in front of people and they might never know.
