Introduction: Home Made Rocket Fuel

3..2..1.....BLAST OFF!

Rockets are a great way to blend the basics of aerodynamics, physics, and fun! But do you also think ROCKET SCIENCE is that difficult as I did? With many of you, a big YES. But what if I tell you it is as simple as mixing Pottasium Nitrate (K2NO3) with the sugar which you use at home? Yep, you can. And this fuel is green that is it doesn't produce smoke and is pollution-free! And the most interesting part, it can fly up to 2000 feet! I'm sure that you are eager to make this, so let's start with the supplies.

Supplies

1. Potassium Nitrate (K2NO3) https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0765XBM17/ref=pp...

2. Sugar

3. 3/4 by quarter-inch PVC pipe

4. 3/4 by quarter-inch oak wood or something similar

5. A long thin stick

6. And of coarse tools which include scissors, tape, driller, hammer blah, blah, blah.

Step 1: Making the Fuel

Now we are ready to make the rocket fuel. To start off we will need a small blender and a digital weighing machine. The first thing we have to do is to measure 65 gms of K2NO3. Blend K2NO3 in the blender. DON'T MIX SUGAR AND K2NO3 TOGETHER AS THEIR MIX IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE! After 20 sec of blending, we get a fluffy powder of K2NO3.

Next, get powdered sugar and measure 35 gms of it shake it with powdered K2NO3 with your hand for 3 min because we need the mixture to be as intimate as possible. That's it our rocket fuel's main thing is ready.

Step 2: Fuel's Body

To make the body we will need to cut the PVC 5 inches long. then we will put the PVC on a concrete and put 3 spoons of clay and compress the clay inside the PVC by hammering the oakwood inside the PVC. Then put 5 spoons of the fuel powder inside the PVC a compress it also by hammering the oakwood. Hammer the powder slowly as this powder is fluffy. The second last step put clay above the powder and also compress this. Last but not least, drill a hole using a 7/32 HANDRILL, drilling through the first portion of sand till the end of the powder.

Step 3: Finishing and Take Of

You are almost done. Just tape the fuel body with a long stick with non-burning tape. Done! Your rocket is ready. To take off, get a bottle and keep the rocket inside. Then ignite the rocket using a matchstick and enjoy it. Use fire-resistant gloves while igniting.
