Introduction: How to Connect Led to 9v Battery Using Resistors
How to connect led to 9v battery explained in an easy manner that everyone can understand
and use it for electronic projects. In order to do this stuff, we must know our components.
Step 1: What Is an LED
An LED (Light emitting diode) is a current driven device that is very sensitive to voltage an current in order to protect it we will need a resistor.
A resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. Video resistor
Step 2: Ohm Law With a Twist
Alright we know and have our components now we need one more thing OHM law with a twist. We have to know our voltage source, the led forward voltage and how much current we want to direct to the led bulb. With all those values we will use the formula :
(Vsource-Forwarded)/I current for led you have all this represented in the VIDEO
Step 3: THE FORMULA FOR LED CALCULATIONS
The formula is
(Voltage of the source(9V) - Voltage forward of LED(2v))/I (current needed for led 0.005A)
As you can see in the pictures above we have entered our values and we have 9-2/0,005
after doing the calculations we have the result 3500ohm or 3K5.We have to find the resistor...
Step 4: Resistor in Series
Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points. Introducing the constant of proportionality, the resistance, one arrives at the usual mathematical equation that describes this relationship:
I = V R , {\displaystyle I={\frac {V}{R}},}
where I is the current through the conductor in units of amperes, V is the voltage measured across the conductor in units of volts, and R is the resistance of the conductor in units of ohms. More specifically, Ohm's law states that the R in this relation is constant, independent of the current.
Step 5: Resistor Calculations With Mobile APP
Another easy way of calculating the needed value for resistors in order to connect an LED to any DC
power source is a mobile APP called ELECTRODROID that is a must on any electronic enthusiast mobile phone
it will easy the process of findings pins, resistance, and even simulate circuits.
Step 6: The Formula Works
As you can see in the pictures above and in the video the LED is lighting even if we have another value
from our calculations and with this you know how to connect any LED to any power source DC.
