How to Make a Small Spring Cannon

For shooting marbles, erasers, pickle harpoons, and other small things.

Step 1: Gather Supplies

you will need these things for this project;

wire hangar
spring
1/2 in copper pipe
1/2 in wooden dowel

tools;

bandsaw (or hacksaw)
wire cutters
pliers
drill

Step 2: Cut the Pipe

cut about five inches off of the pipe.

about 1 1/2 inches down the pipe cut halfway through

then cut down the middle of it until you reach the second cut.

it should look like this.

Step 3: Make the Spring Assembly

cut a 1/4 in piece off the dowel

drill a 1/16 hole in the center.

cut the straight part of the wire hanger

use the pliers to bend 1/4 in of the end at a right angle

put the wire through the wood an the spring

Step 4: Finish It

use the pliers to crush the pipe at the 1/2 cut part. (not all the way)

put the spring assembly in the pipe.

pull it down to where it starts to compress the spring.

and bend the wire.

cut the excess wire

Step 5: How to Fire

pull the bent wire back and turn it so it catches on the half pipe

load it

give the bent wire a half turn to shoot
