Introduction: How to Make Buttermilk Biscuits

In this instructable I will show you how to make easy and great tasting buttermilk biscuits.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need

2 c all-purpose flour

1 c buttermilk

6 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 tbsp baking powder

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Step 3: Now for the Butter

Add the butter to the mixture and blend in using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture has a crumbly texture, like cornmeal.

Step 4: Now the Buttermilk

Pour in the buttermilk and stir until you have a wet dough.

Step 5: Time to Play With Your Food

On a floured surface, shape the dough into a ball, cut in half, put one half on top of the other half and shape into a ball again. Now repeat all of this one more time.

Step 6: Roll It Out

Roll out the dough into an even thickness

Step 7: They Look Like Biscuits!

Cut the biscuits out.

Step 8: Not Time to Cook Them Yet.

Place the biscuits on a plate.

Step 9: Freeze!

Place the plate of biscuits in a freezer for 10 minutes.

Step 10: Ready for the Oven

Place the biscuits on a greased baking sheet.

Step 11: Bake!

Baking an oven that's been preheated to 450° for 11 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Step 12: Enjoy!
