Introduction: How to Make Kraft Macaroni 'n Cheese

These steps are designed to help you make the tastiest and most consistent Kraft Macaroni 'n Cheese!

Supplies

Medium sized pot, colander, stirring spoon, 1 Kraft Macaroni 'n Cheese box mix, 1/4 milk, 4 TBSP butter

Step 1: Wash Your Hands

The first step to any recipe is washing your hands! No one wants germy mac ‘n cheese.

Step 2: Get Out All Necessary Materials

It’s important to prep all the needed items so that the recipe turns out smoothly. You’ll need a medium sized pot, measuring cups, a colander, a stirring spoon, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, butter, and milk.

Step 3: Add Water to Pot

Pour 6 cups of water into the pot. Turn the stove onto medium-high heat. Add a pinch of salt to the water (this raises the boiling temperature of the water just slightly).

Step 4: Leave Water to Boil

Allow the water to heat until the water is at an even boil. If the water isn’t hot enough, the noodles may not cook through properly, leaving a bad texture.

Step 5: Add Noodles, Cook Until Tender

Once the water is boiling, slowly pour the noodles into the water. Leave the noodles until they are slightly soft, stirring occasionally for approximately 7-8 minutes. If the noodles start to split down the middle, they have cooked too long. Remove from the heat.

Step 6: Drain the Noodles

Place the colander in the sink, then slowly pour the noodles into the colander to allow them to drain. Don’t rinse the noodles to avoid making them soggy.

Step 7: Put the Noodles Back in the Pot

Pour the noodles back into the pot (which should be empty of all water and no longer hot).

Step 8: Add Butter

The recipe calls for 4 TBSP of butter, which we recommend cutting into 3 or 4 smaller slices for faster melting. Slowly stir in the butter.

Step 9: Pour in the Milk

Slowly pour in ¼ cup of milk. 1% or skim milk can be used for a low-fat alternative.

Step 10: Stir in the Cheese Mix

Open the cheese packet and pour the contents evenly over the noodles that and the liquids mixed. Stir the cheese into noodles, being sure to target any small clumps that may form.

Step 11: Plate the Dish and Serve

Allow the noodles to cool enough to eat, then serve the mac ‘n cheese and enjoy!
