Introduction: How to Make Lemon Frosting!!! #HMS2018
Hello, and welcome to my instructable! Today we will be making frosting! I will not teach you how to make cupcakes, because they are not necessary. You can use frosting on many different things. For example, lemon cookies, toast, or walls. Traditional frosting gives me migraines, and therefore I cannot eat most cake. When I do, i will often regret it. Therefore, I have created a recipe that I can eat in moderation without headaches. In my opinion, It is best used on plain or sweet bread. For this simple recipe, you will need:
1. Salted butter (one stick)
2. Powdered Sugar (to taste)
3. Vanilla Extract (a cap full if you want)
4. Food coloring (optional)
5. Bowls
6. Spoons and knives
7. I like to add lemon, but you don't have to.
8. You an mix it by hand or use a mixer.
Step 1: BUTTER IS BETTER
Leave the butter to soften on the counter. The softer it is, the BUTTER! Butter? Better?! Get it!!?! Ok, never mind.
While you are letting it soften, you can get out the other ingredients. Once it is soft, put the butter in the bowl.
Step 2: POWDERED SUGAR; BE CAREFUL
Ok, now the hardest part, put in the powdered sugar. Put it in a little at a time. I made the mistake of putting it in to fast at once, IT WAS EVERYWHERE. Now, mix it in.
Step 3: Other....stuff.
You can stop now if you want. But, I ALWAYS add extra. Here are some Ideas:
Crushed Oreos
Churro Sugar (Cane sugar+Cinnamon)
Vanilla Extract
Lemon
I will be adding vanilla extract and lemon. I would recommend vanilla extract with any of these options, but not mixing any of the others. You can do whatever you want, though.
Step 4: APPEARANCE
Since lemon basically has no color, I will be adding a little bit of yellow food coloring. NOT TOO MUCH OR IT GETS REALLY REALLY BRIGHT!
Step 5: ENJOY THIS DELICIOUS MASTERPIECE
You are finished! You can put it in ziplock and cut a hole, or use a piping bag.
Step 6: After Photos
I put it on pi day pie :) . I'm not sure how long to store it, because it is usually stolen from me before I can put it up.....
