Introduction: How to Make No-Bake Energy Bites
Do you have a sweet tooth like me but always feel guilty when
reaching into the cabinet for chocolate or sweets? I have a solution! I am going to introduce everyone to the amazing no-bake energy bites. These little bites are delicious and have ingredients in them that will help boost your energy throughout the day. They can be used as an easy breakfast, a quick snack, a pop of protein before a workout, or even as a sweet dessert.
Step 1: Measure Out the Ingredients
First and foremost, the recipe calls for: ½ cup chocolate chips, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ cup peanut butter, 1 cup old fashioned oats, 1/3 cup honey, ½ cup freshly ground flax seed, and 1 tablespoon chia seeds. Start off by measuring out all of the ingredients I listed above. Personally, I add more chocolate chips than what the recipe calls for because I am a chocolate lover. Feel free to tweak and personalize this and make it your own! Once all of the tasty ingredients are measured out then we are ready for the next step.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
Next, grab out a large mixing bowl; this bowl will be used to mix all of our ingredients together. Take all of the ingredients we measured out and add them to the large mixing bowl. Now take a large spoon and stir all of those ingredients together until well combined. If anyone gets tired of using a spoon they could always use their clean hands. Although it is messier, it’s what I prefer to do! Once it’s all mixed together either put the lid on the bowl or cover with some sort of wrap and put the bowl into the fridge for ten to twenty minutes so that it will harden slightly. This will help make it easier to roll into balls.
Step 3: Forming and Done!
Once the mixture has cooled slightly in the fridge for that ten to twenty minutes take the large bowl out of the fridge. Next, you will take the lid or wrap off of the bowl and set it to the side. After that be sure to wash your hands well since we will be using our hands to shape our energy bites. Once your hands are nice and clean grab out whatever size you please of the mixture and roll it into a ball. I like shaping my energy bites into 1-inch size balls, but make yours whatever size you prefer. This is personal preference, don’t get too caught up on what size they all are. Repeat this until all of your mixture is gone. Now place all of your nicely rolled energy bites into a bowl or container that you can place in the fridge. These will stay good in your fridge for a couple of weeks.
Step 4: Enjoy!
That completes our no-bake energy bites. Now we can all enjoy these easy treats that are good for any occasion. Use these for easy children’s breakfast on the go or your pop of protein before a workout or my favorite a sweet treat! I hope everyone enjoys these as much as I do and I’m glad I got to share this with all of you! There is nothing better than a tasty treat that also helps boosts your energy. Enjoy!
