Introduction: How to Make a Candy/Treat Jar
If you work at a desk during the day, or you just like having candy/treats around, you are probably familiar with the different ways people store their candy/treats. Here is a simple yet fun Candy/Treat Jar that was made from things I had just lying around the house. You could keep it for yourself, or you could make and give it as a gift to someone else. This one lives by the side of my bed. It is devoted to Jordan Almonds. Hope you like it.
Step 1:
Supply list:
Clean bottle with lid
A short glass candlestick or something like it (Mine was a base for a cake plate, which I kept around once the plate part died.)
Some wood that could be used for a knob on top of the lid, ( I used a base ring, for use with old school clothes pins, the top was an empty “Squinkies” shell http://www.squinkies.com/.)
Black spray paint
E-6000 glue
Curling ribbon

Step 2:
Here is the cleaned bottle.
Step 3:
Here is the base with a ring of E-6000 glue on it.
Step 4:
Place the bottle on top of the base. Center it, the best you can, and let it dry.
Step 5:
Use the E6000 to glue the wood ring (whatever you found to use) on to the center of the lid. I glued the empty “Squinkies” shell into the center of the ring. It doesn’t look like much right now, but, wait until it is dry, at least one hour.
Step 6:
Once the glue on the lid is dry, spray paint it black, in a well-ventilated area. Wait until the first coat is dry, then, add a second coat. Now that looks a whole lot better.
Step 7:
You may embellish this in a lot of different ways; I chose to keep it simple with some white curling ribbon. I tied a length of it around the neck of the bottle and then, curled about 2 yards more, tied it to the first length and curled the left over ends.
