Introduction: How to Use a Miter Saw
This is a tutorial on how to use the miter saw.
Step 1: Measure the Wood to the Length You Desire and Mark It.
Use a ruler or tape measure to measure and mark it with a pencil.
Step 2: Before Cutting Anything, Wear Safety Equipment Like Safety Glasses, Etc.
Get safety glasses from the supply section. Make sure you are wearing appropriate attire that will not get caught in the machinery.
Step 3: Make Sure the Plug Is Connected to an Outlet to Turn It On.
Uncover the plug and plug it into the outlet.
Step 4: Place the Wood on the Table and Align It Against the Fence.
Make sure the wood is pressed against the fence part of the saw so that the cut will be accurate.
Step 5: The Miter Saw's Scale Allows You to Cut at an Angle.
To move it, push down on the lock and adjust the lever to the degree. If you want to cut a straight line keep it at 90 degrees or 0.
Step 6: Check the Position of the Blade on the Wood.
Lower the handle down on the wood and without pressing down on the switch, see if any changes need to be made before cutting.
Step 7: Cutting the Wood.
Press the button on the handle to turn on the saw and lower it to the wood and cut all the way through to the bottom. Allow the blade to completely stop rotating before lifting the handle back up. If the blade is too dull it won't cut the wood as smoothly.
Step 8: Finishing With the Miter Saw.
Once you finish with using the miter saw, unplug the cord and cover it with a red master lock.
